What we do with your information.
The short version: this site sets no cookies, runs no analytics and shares nothing with advertisers. The only personal information we ever get is what you type into the contact form, and we use it to reply to you.
Who we are
Pocket Knowledge Limited, an Irish private company limited by shares, registered in Ireland under CRO number 820929, with its registered office at 54 Briarwood Lawn, Mulhuddart, Dublin 15. We are the data controller for everything described on this page.
If you want to talk to us about any of it, email hello@pocketknowledge.ie. A person reads that address.
What we collect
- What you send us. If you use the contact form, that's your name, your email address and your message. If you email us directly, it's whatever the email contains.
- Ordinary server records. Like every website, ours records technical details of each request: IP address, browser type, which page was asked for and when. We use these to keep the site running and secure, not to build a profile of you.
That's the lot. There is nothing on this site that follows you between visits or across other websites.
Why we use it
To reply to you, and if it goes further, to discuss and carry out work for you. Under the GDPR our legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b)), together with our legitimate interest in running the business and keeping this site secure (Article 6(1)(f)).
We will not add you to a mailing list. There isn't one.
Who else can see it
- Netlify hosts this website and receives contact form submissions. Netlify, Inc. is based in the United States, so your message may be stored and processed outside the European Economic Area, under Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission and the terms of Netlify's data processing agreement.
- Netlify's spam filter checks every form submission before it reaches us, which means the contents of your message pass through that filtering service. It is used only to tell a real enquiry from an automated one.
- Google provides our email. Anything you send to hello@pocketknowledge.ie arrives in a mailbox hosted by Google Workspace. Google LLC is also based in the United States, and the same kind of transfer safeguards apply.
That is everyone. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for advertising or marketing.
How long we keep it
Your message sits in our email and in the Netlify forms dashboard while we deal with it. If it turns into work, we keep it with the records for that job. If it doesn't, we delete it once it's clearly finished with, normally within twelve months. Ask us to delete yours sooner and we will.
Server records are separate and much shorter lived. Our host keeps them for a matter of days for security and troubleshooting, and we do not copy them anywhere else or use them to build a picture of you.
Cookies
None. This site sets no cookies at all, which is why you were not made to click a cookie banner. The fonts are served from this domain rather than borrowed from a third party, so simply loading the page doesn't announce your visit to anyone else.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it or delete it, ask us to restrict how we use it, object to us using it, or ask for it in a portable form. Email hello@pocketknowledge.ie and we will deal with it within one month.
If we don't sort it out to your satisfaction, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission, the Irish supervisory authority, at dataprotection.ie.
